New ideas during the pandemic
In 2021, in the midst of the Corona pandemic, we had to completely change our traditional way of drawing at live events, for example at the online launch event of SAMCE or a panel discussion for SCNAT.

Since drawing live on stage was not possible and events could only take place online, we had to be innovative. We created a digital illustration on the iPad during an online event – whilst being connected via Zoom or Teams. In this way we supported the official launch of SAMCE where a dozen or so scientists presented their research areas in short lectures. The Swiss Advanced Manufacturing Community Events – a joint initiative of #SATW, #ETHZurich, #EPFL, #Empa and the Strategic Focus Area Advanced Manufacturing – are especially organized for junior scientists, such as doctoral students and postdocs, as well as other academic staff active in advanced manufacturing in Switzerland.
The countdown to achieving the UN's 17 Sustainable Development Goals is on: The international community wants to achieve them by 2030. The necessary change is still possible if society as a whole puts all its energy into it without delay. The federal government's Sustainable Development Strategy 2030 shows how this is to happen in Switzerland. We supported the Swiss Academy of Sciences SCNAT visually during a panel discussion to find solutions for the conflicting goals of energy demand, biodiversity conservation and sustainable food systems.
